Chapter 8: A Hard Task

Shadow was now on the way to his new house, it was barely 9 o'clock in the night, but there was something weird going on: Melanie hadn't woke up since she fainted and he was already far away from Amy's house. Nervous that something could've happened to Melanie while him and Amy where arguing he checked her to see if she was still alive. Luckily, she was, Shadow thought about what he just did and realized that it was the worst decision he had ever taken, he knew that he needed Amy but he couldn't come back though. When he arrived to his new home he grabbed Melanie and put her on his bed (the house already had furniture in it). He sat on a couch next to the bed and watched her. She was very beautiful, her purple eyes and her long hair, were something that any mortal could resist, but he still loved Amy so much that he didn't even noticed it.

The next day Shadow decided to try to wake her up and she did wake up. "Uh? Where am I?" she said "You are in my house and I'm taking you to the hospital so stand up, get downstairs and get into the car" said Shadow "Which car?" she said looking at the Corvette, BMW z3, The BMW z4, the BMW z8, the Lamborghini Murcielago and the black Ferrari (Wow he's rich!) "Just follow me". Then they headed up to the brand new car and Shadow drove toward the hospital. When they arrived the hospital, the doctor said to Melanie, "Well, you need to enter that room and the nurse will tell you what to do." "OK then" Melanie said. Shadow then just waited until the doctor called him to his office. "Well, what's up with her?" said Shadow nervously "Bad news, very bad news, she has an illness called leukemia" said the doctor "What's that?" said Shadow "Well, it means," The doctor took a deep breath and said, "it means cancer in the blood, and to tell you the truth, it doesn't have a cure and" "And what?" Shadow interrupted "She has only 5 months of life left". Then Shadow went white and speechless. He knew that he had to make these 5 months the happiest months of her life but the question was how? How would he make her happy? This is going to be a hard task, he thought.
