Chapter Four: Krystal and Cela

A/N ~ Yippee! Me and my bestest best friend come in, in this chapter! WOOHOO! *does a little dance* And right in the beginning too (hint: they are hedgehog shape-shifters)!

Well, hope you enjoyed our first appearance. First appearances in next chapter: Kosmo, Shadow and Peaches, Topaz, Ruby, NeoNiGHTS, Ozzy and Onyx, Spike and Rusty, Comet, and finally, Angel.

Sonic and Co reached the door to Eggman's base when, out of nowhere, an old hedgehog appeared. She was wearing extremely tattered, old robes, like that of a priest, only with a hood that covered her face in shadowed darkness, and the sleeves extended past her hands. She was very wrinkled and had an air of someone who had been pushed around far too much in her life. Walking up to Sonic, she spoke.

The one you seek is no longer with us." Sonic looked shocked.

"You mean………Shadow………died?" She shook her head.

"No………" she looked up, but the shadows still covered her face, "He has been captured by Eggman, and turned into a monster. We fear he will never come back………" Sonic gasped as realization dawned on him. Shadow was roboticized! But wait a second………

"What do you mean 'we'?" he asked, "There is only you." The old hedgehog laughed and threw up her right arm. Her sleeve rolled down to reveal that her entire right arm was roboticized. Sonic and everyone else gasped with shock. Then, a flash of green light.

When the light had faded, the old hedgehog was gone, and in her place were two young, female hedgehogs.

One was black with light blue, cerulean blue, and midnight blue stripes in almost the exact same pattern as Shadow's (light blue on eyes, cerulean on two bottom spikes on her head, and midnight on the top spike to between her eyes), except for the fact that her stripes extended to her eyes. The other one had black fur with cerulean blue and purple stripes (one cerulean stripe down the middle of her head, and two purple stripes on either side). The black and blue one had on a grey shirt with an X-ed out heart on it, blue jeans, black fingerless gloves, a silver watch with a dark blue band, and a light green vest on top of her shirt. The black and blue and purple one had a purple shirt, grey jeans, grey fingerless gloves, and a purple vest.

Both had hover skates, though the black, blue, and purple ones had a pink star on it, while the black and blue's skates had a purple star. They also had identical dark green back packs, and rings on their gloves and skates identical to Shadow's. They opened their eyes, saw the looks on Sonic and Co.'s faces. Then they burst out laughing.

~*~ At Sonic's House ~*~

"Master." Shadowbot07 said, flipping open his com-link, "The hedgehog and his friends are not at their house, I destroyed the house, and am coming back now." He flipped his com-link closed and took off, heading toward Eggman's Base.

~*~ At Eggman's Base ~*~

"So you tricked us………why?" Knuckles asked the two girl hedgehogs, still rolling on the ground in laughter.

"We………wanted to see your faces!" the black and blue one said, struggling to stop laughing "My………name is………Krystal!"

"And………I'm………" the black, blue, and purple one said, also struggling for breath "Cela!"

All of the sudden Krystal turned serious.

"But something terrible has happened to Shadow………" she said sadly, "You see, he was captured by Eggman after he landed on Earth. Eggman tested his new roboticizer on him. Now he is completely under Eggman's control."

"And why are you here?" Knuckles asked, suspiciously. Everyone else turned to Krystal and Cela.

"We………um………" Krystal said, looking to Cela for help. Cela turned to them.

"We are part of a special secret government branch. So secret, not even the government knows we exist. We are called………the V.G. Unit."
