Big news, Shadow fans! Shadow is officially getting his own game! Shadow the Hedgehog is to be released late 2005, and more info with trailers can be found here and here. Thanks to Raphaela for the news and links!

Personal questions should be sent via the contact form or they will be deleted. Questions that are already answered somewhere on the site will be deleted. I'm baaaaack... Did you miss me? I missed you all.
So far I've gone through a thick batch of submissions, but not all of them. Please be patient for the rest of the submissions (do NOT resubmit, please) and enjoy the fanart and fanfiction. I've also added in the Recommendations sections, so you can recommend your favorite artists and writers so their works may appear on «shadow». :D
I've also been thinking of ways to make the site interactive, such as a community setting. The first thing that came to mind is a forum, but I'm not sure if (a) it's be too unpopular and a waste or (b) it'd be overpopular and suck up all the space/bandwidth resources. So, I am considering a Livejournal community. That might work because (a) LJs are free now so anyone can get one, and (b) LJ communities tend to do well. So, I ask you all to email me (contact form is to the left as always) and tell me what you think. I'd really like some ideas and feedback.
More updates and special goodies coming soon, right now I need to get some dinner so I don't have to update with a malnourishment notice... :)

My PC is working, but my internet is down. It should be back sometime this week. If not, I will do updates from a school machine (like I am now).

I have some bad news...
My PC has died. I am returning home tomorrow evening, but I will not be able to make those updates I planned. I am very, VERY sorry. I don't know when I'll be back on a PC other than a school computer, since I have to face facts:
- My PC is 5+ years old. Repairing it most likely will be more expensive than replacing it (I don't even know WHAT is wrong with it, just that it's not turning on).
- I don't have any money to get a new one. =p
I will post another update soon with a 'damage report' and whether or not this site will have to go on an official indefinite hiatus.
HOWEVER, I will have some access to email from school, so you can still keep sending emails/submissions. All recently sent submissions are safe in my inbox. All the other files on my dead PC... I will be attempting to transport them in a very tricky operation. My apologies again, and stay tuned.

I know I promised some updates, but it is harder than I thought to snap up any while away from my home PC, where all my files are. I apologize. I also apologize for not making any updates on June 23rd... Happy belated 3rd Birthday, Shadow the Hedgehog! I ALSO didn't make an update to thank everyone for 30K hits... I am very very sorry, and am working on a way of making it up to everyone. I am working on a small but nice surprise... hopefully it will all work out... hehehe...
For the record, I will not be back home in the US until July 12. I am itching to do site work, and I'm guessing you guys are itching for updates, so let's bear with eachother. :)

I have good news and bad news again.
The bad news is, my cold was actually a very bad flu.
The good news is, I still made up a Basic Guide for SH, with focus on Team Dark. I will start work on the other guides, but until those are up, you can always email me if you're having trouble with the game and I'll try to help you out as best I can. (Hey, SOMEBODY else had to get the game as late as me, right?)
I also should mention that starting this fall, Sonic X season 2 will be on FoxBox. Why's this important? The SA2 adaptation (meaning Shadow's appearance) is part of this season! As son as I get airing dates, I will put them up, and an animation section for Shadow in Sonic X will be in the works as well. :)

The good news is, besides adding 2 new fics, I have Sonic Heroes and am halfway through the entire game, which mean Tips, Level and Boss guides are coming soon!
The bad news is, I have a bad cold (how do I get a cold in the warm weather?) so I may slow about it. I'll try to have at least one guide up this weekend though, and I will update the Cast page.

Two weeks later...
First off, fanfic update. For some reason MSWord (and WordPad) have gone wonky on my computer, so if I email you asking for a .txt file of your submission, please understand and bear with me. There are a few fanart images to be added so those will come next.
Since there's a very high demand for fanworks and not as big a supply, I may implement a recommendation system - you recommend an artist/fanfic writer, and I will contact them about submitting to the site. This is still in the works and may be coming soon. Feel free to email me (contact link is to the left) with questions, comments or suggestions, they are appreciated. If I do implement this, it will be in a few weeks when I am not so busy (as well as everyone else, I know finals are here/coming for a lot of people).
I still am very busy with school, so thanks for being patient with me :)

Okay. IMPORTANT.
I have a folder full of Shadow images. Some of them are pics I've collected, and some are submissions I've never uploaded, and I don't know who the artists are/when it was sent. So, if you sent me artwork at any point and I haven't uploaded it, PLEASE contact me and I will see if I have it here. There are quite a few pics I've found that I'm certain were submissions.

«shadow» is moving. I will be recoding the entire site and moving everything to my paid host. Once everything is moved (new updates included) I will give out the link here and ask everyone to update links/bookmarks. Sonic Heroes is out on GameCube, with PS2 and XBox versions coming out later. I'll have more info and tips once I get my copy.

To the people who send in artwork/fanfics and see it on here: Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without you guys, this site would be nothing, dead and gone. I really, truly appreciate it.
To people who send in art and don't see it on here:
I'll say it here instead of sending out a million emails. It's one of two main reasons why:
1) I appreciate that you make Shadow fanart just for my site, but please, put some effort into it. I'm not trying to be mean, but when I get an inbox full of MSPaint doodles with messages like "this is 4 ur site", it just shows me that it's not worth my (or anyone else's) time.
2) It's not your art. DO NOT EMAIL ME OTHER ARTISTS WORK, ORIGINAL OR EDITED. IT IS A VIOLATION OF COPYRIGHT. Furthermore, any artist whose work is on the internet usually follows the disclaimer "This work is © me and should not be copied, edited, or redistributed." No one likes having their art ripped off, so don't do it. If you want to contribute to this site and can't come up with some art made with effort, simply sign the guestbook. I read eeevery message.
To the people who send fanfiction and don't see it on here:
It's not because I didn't like the piece, but because I don't like how it was typed. Quotes, commas, and spaces should be used. I'm not trying to be a nitpick, but if it's hard for me to read because of grammar/spelling errors, chances are it's hard for someone else to read too. MS Word is good for this; it'll correct all mistakes in a snap.
I'm becoming stricter on all submissions, because I don't have limitless space.

There are two reasons why there have been no updates:
1. The new email server I was using was shut down, meaning all the submissions are gone. Poof.
2. The majority of the submissions I got (art in particular) were, as much as I hate to say it, poor. When I update I put a lot of time and effort into coding every single page and cropping every thumbnail. I don't appreciate getting emails with 1700k bitmaps, blatantly ripped-off and edited art from others, or art that has been scribbled on the back of a flyer. For now, I'm not taking any submissions, probably not until next month, seeing as I'm going on vacation.

Real updates this time: The entire site has been touched up in terms of HTML (everyone with IE 5.5+ will notice the new shiny red scrollbars :D) so the code is cleaner, eaasier to update and looks that bit better overall. I've also added one new fanfic. So far no one has re-submitted, but I can understand if no one wants to. Having all that data deleted was very irresponsible of me.
